Allsteel Introduces Height Adjustable Work Surface

New York, NY (Jan. 2010) - Allsteel Inc. lives up to its “Never Sit Still” credo with the Stride Height-Adjustable Worksurface. This added sit-to-stand feature for the award-winning workplace series that was introduced in 2009 allows workers to intuitively adjust their desk surface height with the simple touch of a pneumatic lift that raises and lowers the desk surface vertically without extending out into the workspace. The Stride Height-Adjustable Worksurface is mounted directly onto the panel slot at any one-inch increment. The user can adjust the worksurface 14 inches from its initial mounted height, allowing for innumerable configurations to accommodate any individual and any job function at the most ergonomically appropriate height. From a common sitting height of 26 to 32 inches, the user can adjust the worksurface up to standing height of 40 to 46 inches.

The Stride Height-Adjustable Worksurface requires no electricity to power its movement and unlike other adjustable desk systems, there are no obtrusive mechanics, freeing the space beneath the worksurface for storage, foot room and a greater range of motion. The simplicity and minimal cost of Stride’s Height-Adjustable Worksurface makes the option a reality for clients who are looking to improve end-user ergonomic benefits and, ultimately, productivity.

The Stride Height-Adjustable Worksurface is designed for use with 48, 54 or 60-inch-wide-by-24-inch-deep surfaces.  It conforms to the BIFMA GI-2002 Ergonomic Guidelines and can withstand a load of 250 pounds in a fixed position.
