Grand Rapids, MI (June 23, 2010) – Cumberland Furniture, a manufacturer of
premium-quality, classic, modern contract furniture since the 1950’s, has
announced the introduction of a Solid Surface top available as a standard
offering on three of it’s most popular table lines: Circo, Lisa and Venlo.
Solid Surface has been a popular custom option for Cumberland customers because
is nonporous, meaning stains don't have a chance to sink in and the surface
tends to be mold, mildew and bacteria resistant, as well.
According to Cumberland National Sales Manager, Bill Greeley, “We found
ourselves quoting these three tables on a regular and consistent basis in Solid
Surface material as a custom item for many customers and thought offering it as
a standard product would be the natural and correct thing to do.”
The popularity of Solid Surface is nothing new. In fact, the Palmer Table
that was introduced earlier this year was Cumberland’s first table to be offered
in Glacier White solid surface
Cumberland is offering Glacier White Solid Surface with a matte finish and
eased edge on Circo, Lisa and Venlo.
About Cumberland
Founded in the 1950s, Cumberland was purchased in 1998 by Grand Rapids-based
contract furniture industry entrepreneur Scott Gilmore. Even before Gilmore’s
leadership, Cumberland was well known for its elegant designs for tables, desks,
benches, and office and lobby seating. Today, Cumberland’s products reflect a
cohesive design offering while giving its design partners freedom to create
products distinct in their own right. The result is Modern American Classics
that are always in style, fresh and interesting, whether offered last century or
today.
