ORGATEC 2010:Excellent Registration Figures & Major Themes
Reported by eFurniture for Office Furniture & Design on 7/20/2010
Forward To Friend Print Article

Cologne, Germany (July, 2010) - From October 26-30, 2010, ORGATEC - the leading global trade fair for offices and facilities - will once again take place in Cologne, Germany. Approximately 700 suppliers from about 35 countries are expected to exhibit this year.

Almost all market leaders will be present among them the first timer Kinnarps Samas. Some renowned  names have decided to return to Orgatec such as Haworth, USM Schärer, COR/interlübke, Ruckstuhl, OSRAM, PHILIPS and Kindermann. Product areas on display will include furnishings, lighting, flooring, acoustics and media and conference technology. ORGATEC will therefore present all areas essential to holistic room design. Under the title “Better Office - Greater Success”, ORGATEC 2010 will focus on the question of how companies’ efficiency and productivity can be improved through well-planned office design.

The conference program will highlight current industry topics and provide practical examples. The show also encourages informal networking via various events and areas throughout the show. “We want to strengthen ORGATEC's character as a theme-based fair even further through the discussion of current topics and a stronger practical focus,” says Oliver P. Kuhrt, Executive Vice President of Koelnmesse. “The participation of renowned exhibitors from around the world at ORGATEC 2010 proves that this concept has been very well received.”

More than 50% of the current exhibitor base will be companies from abroad.  Italy will provide the strongest foreign country participation followed by Spain, Denmark, Switzerland and Turkey. The number of North American suppliers has also increased. Group participations from Italy, Spain, Taiwan and China are expected. These group participations offer small and medium-sized companies in particular an attractive opportunity to present themselves.

ORGATEC 2010 will occupy all the halls of the northern section of Koelnmesse: Halls 6, 7, 8 and 9, as well as Hall 10 of the southern section. The event will occupy a gross exhibition space of 1.1 Million square feet. The fairground can be accessed via entrances South, East and North. All halls and entrances are linked to the Boulevard.

Through its holistic approach, ORGATEC addresses all the relevant aspects of office and facility design- from planning, design and furnishing right through to the operation and management of the available space. The event is aimed at planners (interior architects and architects), users (e.g. managing directors, buyers and facility managers), and the office specialist trade. In 2008, these three visitor segments each made up a 30 % of the total number of all attendees. ORGATEC 2010 is expected to have a similar visitor structure. More than 62,000 visitors from 114 countries attended the last event in 2008, with nearly half of them coming from abroad. Among foreign attendees, 65% were from EU member states, 9%  came from other European countries, 10%  from Asia, 4% from the Middle East and 4% from North America.
